Yamile Milian

This is an image of a character from the Beverly Woo book that I am working on and the character's name is Special Agent Yamile Milian. She is Beverly's boss in the FBI Headquarters, who is a strong personality and the image is based on a special friend whom I will keep confidential, and this friend is a special talent that was built by the heavens and mount Olympus. Milian is someone who doesn't tolerate Beverly's attitude and has been a mentor to the young FBI recruit.

This is done in regular photoshop and illustrator cs3

This is an image done by me of German born guitar hero Uli Jon Roth, who was a member of the legendary German hard rock supergroup The Scorpions from 1973 right until his departure from the band in 1978. He was a pioneer right along with Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Purple/Rainbow fame to use classical music with heavy metal which is a neo-classical metal. This is done on Illustrator CS3.

Melrose

This is an image of Melrose Bickerstaff, runner-up of the reality modeling TV show "America's Next Top Model" , this was an image that I had in mind that the judges on the show hated but the public loved it including myself. This 25-year old fashion model/designer is signed to Storm Model Management . This was done in Illustrator CS2 and with sketching. Melrose is one hell of a talent and she is the most creative and the most soulful model despite all the controversey surrounding this young lady. She has been doing City TV website hosting a show there. She is good on camera. Her actual name is Melissa Rose Bickerstaff and she changed it to Melrose as her model name. She is one force to be reckoned with. And she has the best runway body.

More on this young lady check her on her official myspace page on http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=98029709

Here is a clip from Melrose on youtube

Nancy Hayssen Plus Size Body Beautiful

Here is an image done by me of plus size model Nancy Hayssen, the 31 year old voluptuous beauty who is also an author herself. The image was done in illustrator cs3 and its an image done by 11 x 17" . Nancy Hayssen demonstrated her power her grace and beauty and was the epidemic for Whitney Thompson the winner of America's Next Top Model who like Hayssen is a plus size model. Hayssen bared her soul in the image for an ad campaign to promote what healthy bodies look rather than the skinny anorexic like models should look like. I wrote her a greeting to wish her a happy holidays.

Beverly Woo

This is an illustration created by me in 2004 which is an anime influenced illustration that I created with a colleague. The young lady on the left is Beverly Sen Woo, an Asian American female whose parents were mortally wounded in their business, and becomes a crime fighter instead of being a high fashion model . She in turn served in the Navy and met her superior whom she had a child out of wedlock. Several years later she meets her long lost daughter name Ivana who is the young teenager on the right. Ivana is a rebel and very much rough around the edges after being raised practically an orphan. Agent Woo's mission is to go out and clean up the Mob and Corruption inside the actvities of the Vetrini Crime Family led by Bruno Vetrini.
This illustration is the genesis of the book that I am working on and it was done by 8" x 11" inch and was done with mixed media and with different charcoal colors and coloring with Photoshop and with the use of Mossaic Look.

It has been a difficult process in creating new concepts of the Beverly Woo character. I was influenced by Hayao Miyasaki's creation of Spirited Away and the character Karen Sisco which was on ABC TV in 2003. It has influenced me in doing an anime influenced illustration that features a story that I am working on. I will give details in the weeks to come of Beverly Sen Woo

Below is the book cover of Beverly Woo

The book cover is part of the process and I have been working on this project for the past four years though it has been a slow process but I am working on getting it done by the end of the year.

Here is the film that influenced me in doing this project

Skateboard Project 1

This is a skateboard I created in 2003 when I briefly returned to Fashion Institute Of Technology which is a portrait based on my character that I am working on, which I used spray paint and watercolor markers as an advertisement for a skateboard for kids who want to purchase.

The image was also done at 11 x 17" paper board and I still keep my skateboard that I worked on in late 2003.

Fashion Institute Of Technology

As yu can see this is Fashion Institute Of Technology which I attended back in 1996 right until May 1999. I had visited the college on various ocassions and had a great time and so many great memories including the professors I have in the past they were my mentors and I am forever grateful of them .
I had a degree in BFA in College Illustration (Applied Science). I took alot of courses back then. It was tough but it was worth it. My fondest memory was my last semester which professor Hanlon, who at the time was the illustration's department chairperson introduced me to alot of things and I was introduced to the world of computer art and I continued on with Borough Of Manhattan Community College. But nothing can be as great as
F.I.T. it was part of my life and being there was a great learning experience.I had great professors there and I would not stop thinking about my pals as well.

Here is a clip about the institution that I attended which I received my BFA Degree in Illustration (applied science)

The Millenium

Here is a project I did way back in 1999 with
Professor Christopher J. Spollen which is something I have kept for many years and will never go away. Back then we used floppy disk to save and nowadays we don't use them anymore but I managed to transfer my old work to my flash drive. The subject is "The Millenium" and the new decade was coming.

Logos for CUNY College

We have two images I have done while interning with Medgar Evers College a while back which I did some texting and image making for the college's website, and I have created logos for them and it speaks for every students who is searching for the American Dream

The next is from the Medgar Evers Project which deals with health and fitness and the logo was to attract in the convention of doctors and CEO's frok different companies including the Medical Community visiting Medgar Evers College.

GUITAR HEROES

This is German born guitar great Uli Jon Roth formerly of the Scorpions he plays classical and hard rock music , this is done with charcoal and pastels and spray paint, and used Photoshop the new software. This is the subject of Guitar Heroes. This was the first image of Uli Jon Roth and is titled "IN TRANCE" the name of the Scorpions classic song from 1975 which he played a fiery balladiering guitar solo that is so mesmerizing.

These images I have done as an illustrator who is a music fan and want to promote music from the past. The theme of this is "GUITAR HEROES", The images are basically of rock guitar legends that I have grown to admire and that influenced. The second image is of Eric Clapton on top during his days with Cream of the 1960's which is what had been capture with pastels. The next is of Black Sabbath founding guitarist Tony Iommi who is an inspiration to many guitar players. He had an accident in a sheet metal factory as a teenager and lost two tips of his fingers and created a sound that is amazing which is called "heavy metal", and shows determination. This was done with mixed media and color pastels .

The second image is of rock guitar great Eddie Van Halen which I did just months ago and I was fascinated by hi guitar histrionics, and the guitar pose that I had to chose all images and he had this powerful image. This was done in watercolor markers and colored the background in painting on photoshop

Here is another done by me of the great Eddie Van Halen who is best known for his tapping guitar technique on the fretboard

Stevie Ray Vaughan was an interesting subject I saw this music video from the 1980's and I wanted to capture the image and the power of how he plays his insrument during the poor weather. This image is of 11 x 17" and I had done them in watercolor markers and color pastels.

Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin fame was interesting in the pose and capture the essence of the 1970's and the guitar pose is striking and the picture came from a 1975 performance in Earl's Court. I love the picture and it inspired me to work on this piece
Pastels and Illustrator CS3.

Randy Rhoads on a Crazy Train

The illustration is a suggestion of what a guitar hero was during his brief time in his lifetime.Randy Rhoads is an example of a classically trained guitarist who can incoroporate rock guitar. This was done at 11 x 17" portrait with watercolor markers only. Rhoads was a founding member of Quiet Riot and was a member of Ozzy Osbourne's touring band from 1979 right until his tragic death in a plane crash in March 1982 at age 25. Songs like "Crazy Train" "I Don't Know" and "Mr Crowley" written by Rhoads with Ozzy stood the test of time.

Jimi Hendrix, god of thunder

Black Model

This is a photograph I did in 1995 which I took of this young lady whom I forgot her name , while I was a student at Fashion Institute Of Technology . I was at professor James Coulier's class. I really did enjoy the class and I have used alot of flash and different camera angles. I love this young lady's exotic looks. She had this amazing beauty that I asked her to pose for me with a fragrance to promote a campaign ad. I used this old photograph and I photoshopped it with a new illustration of it and using the piece to make it fancy .

Halloween

This new piece is a Halloween Card is which is done
on Illustrator CS3 software and I made it very simple.
It is to capture the focus on Halloween.

April

This is a portrait of April done in 19 x 24" paper with pastels and crayon which I done in 2005.

The next piece was also done in 19 x 24" with pastels and crayon along with

watercolor markers. I tried to get the whole piece but it was too long and I had to scan it

small version. I will try to get the whole piece later.

These are illustration done by me in the fall 2005, which are three portraits of a young model name April Wilkner from New York Model Management and now currently with Race Mode Management which she modeled in Hong Kong and Japan as well as for Liz Claiborne, Maxim and wedding adverisements, etc, and occasionally does runway. She is of Japanese and Caucasian descendency. Her exotic beauty and facial expressions and artistic & soulful posing is what attracted to me and she became my favorite muse to work with. The 28 year old Wilkner was once a finalist which she placed 4th on the reality modeling show "America's Next Top Model" a protege of former supermodel Tyra Banks which was filmed during the fall 2003 and aired in January 2004.

These pieces were done with pastels and sprays in the background. The second piece was hard to get mainly because the file was very big and I had to shortened it.

If you really want to know about this young lady her link is http://www.aprilwilkner.com/

This image was originally done by charcoal and watercolor pens, this was from April Wilkner's 2004 Maxim photoshoot which showed her versatility as a model and shows how creative as a model and proved to be one of the best models from ANTM cycle 2.
